Replace the poppet balls and springs in the shift tower. Jumping out of gear
is usually due to weak springs and /or worn poppet balls. Also, check the
condition of the blocking rings on your synchronizer.

Mine has always jumped out of 2nd gear under negative load also-if you come
up with a cure for that let me know [;>} I just learned to drive it most
of the time with my hand on the stick and hold it in place....
