<< Does anyone know whether 2, or 3 inch letters were more commonly used when
putting registration numbers on M151 hoods?
I have a number of photos and both sizes appear to have been used.

MCO P5750.3, page 4-3, paragraph 4004, section 1, dated 1 Oct 1962, revised 6
Sep 1963, says "Registration markings shall be uniformly applied, using
letters 2, 3, 4, or 5 inches in height. The use of the largest size
practicable in the available space will be the determining factor in choosing
letter and number dimensions."
No where does this document mention National Symbol (stars).
