<properly tagged in your home state and you drive into another state to
attend a meet, the reciprocity agreements between states should apply>
this is why I spent the time on the phone talking to the top of the heap but
my understanding is that as long as you are legal in your home state
it still pays to call ahead

<heavy haulers from the 60's and don't qualify as an antique to be exempt
from the DOT rules>

OK this is one I did my homework on I bought a White tractor (used by the
Navy at one time) and a rear loading trailer that were both old enough to
qualify for historic plates in my state (MI 25 yrs or older) to haul my
Saracen also historically plated. Eliminating expensive plates, high
insurance premiums, and the CDL as long as I am hauling MY vehicle to an
event I qualify for all the possible exemptions and I'm willing to fight the
point. I have the regulation book now you show me where I am in violation
and if you can't and still write me a ticket well then I will see you in
court. Civil Court!

No one, not even the beauracrats are going to keep me from enjoying this
hobby or drive me into the poor house with their taxes and fees.
