[MV] GPW fuel pump question

Hello all,

I have removed my fuel pump from my '42 GPW. It does NOT have the lever
primer. It was having some seepage around the diaphram and I have gotten a
rebuild kit for it.

My question is: Is there an easy, non-damaging way to remove the in and out
valves. They are pressed/staked in and there is no means of tapping them out
from the other side; they must be pulled.

I don't appear to be having problems with the valves themselves, but I
thought if I already have the thing apart and I have the parts, why not
replace with new while I am at it.

Of course, I would rather not damage anything and have to get a new pump. I
will leave the valves alone if there is no easy (non-damaging) way of
getting them out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bob K.
