Announcer, off stage, right: " And now will the Foxtrot
Alpha behind door number three, please come forward to take
control of the keyboard!"

Door number three opens and a plain looking primate
male steps up on the soap box and types into the keyboard:

"Hi Colin, Bill, Lars, Mike and list:

Having been a participant in the previous go
rounds, I figure I might as well wade in again. Feel free to
hit "DELETE" at any time.
After my last posts ,I sent an email to MVPA
headquarters with some comments and suggestions in regards
to MVPA's image and lack of "presence" on this list or an
official MVPA chat area on the MVPA site. The next day I
spent hauling a large chunk of 10 pallets worth of cases of
12"X16" brown envelopes that an idiot buddy bid on and won
at Portsmouth DRMO to Central Maine and returned real late
that night to my home in Massachusetts.
Next morning , I wander out of bed around 0830 and my
wife tells me that " Some Guy from the MV club called 2
times last night and will call you at 9 AM and the message
is on the machine if he doesn't call then."
I procede to punch the button and get " Ron, this is
Lee Holland of the MVPA......" I think, " Oscar
Foxtrot.!!!!!...." If this is " FOR REAL " I got less than
15 minutes to boot up 'ole bessy and reread my posts to
MVPA, list and maybe access Archives while rapidly scribling
notes on what I said and why in the past. Unfortunately I
got too close to the monitor while it booted and the plasma
flux capacitor field interacted with the fillings in my
teeth which caused a fluctuation in the temporial space
time continuum and threw me forward in time and the phone
rang.
48 minutes later I hung up the phone and whadda ya
know.... Mr. Holland and the MVPA has a supporter.
I asked him if anything we covered he would prefer that
I not post to " THE LIST". He stated that would be my
call.We covered many items of concern covered on the list,
and I found his explanations to be clear and concise. Some
parts sounded like they were read , which I found reasonable
since that way the info gets out the same to everyone plus
there are legal aspects to consider.

BOTTOM LINES:

1) I sent an Email to HQ and got a response
from the MVPA president himself in under 24 hours.

2) There are MVPA board members in
attendance to almost every MVPA event or meet ( large or
small) . They may not have a tent up but if you ask the
organisers they can be pointed out to you. Our leadership
is very approachable.

3) MVPA is working with all concerned
parties on the various facets of the presnt import ban. It's
gonna take time.

4) Send an email to HQ and reuest a copy
of the Bylaws and some recruiting brochures. Know what you
are talking about and RECRUIT more members. In DC it all
comes down to numbers.

5) If you have a real concern about
something MVPA wise, CONTACT HQ and find out thier side. I
will (TRY) not to leap to the keyboard half cocked in the
future.(However this may be unavoidable on some Newsgroups)
;-)

6) VOTE your ballot. As of my
conversation on 29 OCT only 500 ballots had been returned.
13 days remain.

7) A members chat area is coming to
the MVPA web site along with a complete new overhaul to the
site sometime very early 2000. So "LIST" non MVPA members
may soon be rid of these types of postings.

So ,there it is in a very big nutshell. If ya got
bitches, see1,2,5 and 6. If you think we gotta change HQ,
then see 6. The rest of you can look forward to 7.

Gotta go now, I dropped my banana.
