Hey !

Snap - sh....!

I have a MB steering column, with a good gear - no play.
But the horn contact ring was broken. I failed to get a replacement
from the dealers in Europe. The item(s) are listed in the
Parts list and the TM describes how to replace them.
So I ended up making one, brass, myself on the lace. When I tried to fix
it to the column on the insulator ring, that snaped as well...
I really do not know what to do now. Further attempts with
selfmade parts failed sofar. They were either too tight, or too loose
or fell off as the glue used did not fix the insulator ring properly,
or the material used was too weak or too hard.

Now I wonder:

- has anybody had similar problems and was able to fix it ?
- are the insulator ring and contact ring available as spares ?
- what do you suggest is the best way to fix the thing ?

I appriciate any advice or suggestion...I am desperate !
