Haven't seen that one for a while, but one of the cable channels had 24
hours of the old "Combat" series on Thanksgiving. This starred Vic
Morrow as Sgt.Saunders and featured a lot of new actors on their way up
- Robert Duvall, Telly Savalas, Tab Hunter, Dennis Weaver, Fernando
Lamas to name a few who would either be a new member of the squad that
would show up and get killed off or would be a German or French
resistance fighter who would come in contact with the squad. Also had a
lot of MV's and a lot of "mistakes". Saw an M-37 in one episode,
painted in German grey with black cross on the door and another German
staff car that looked like a Dodge Command Car w/some sort of square
grilled hood attached to the front. Also a lot of U.S. half-tracks
painted like German armour. Still, it was interesting to see these old
episodes again and to especially be looking for the MV's more than I did
when they were a weekly series "way back then".
