I don't know how original or correct it was, but one of the shop vans
I inspected at a nearby DRMO yard had an Onan 12 KVA marine diesel
generator installed in a compartment in the van, and the driver's
boarding step and toolbox were replaced with a fuel tank for the
generator. You can just see a bit of it in this picture:
