Re: [MV] M38 question

I'd suggest that we be careful that we answer the question being asked and use terms that mean what we say. Jason appears to be asking if early M-38s used "leftover" MB parts (I don't know but doubt it)--Dave is saying that there are parts that are the
same on M-38s and MBs, which I don't think is correct. I've never worked on a MB, and only looked them over several times, but, other than perhaps the front bumper, can't recall any body part or engine part that was "the same". I've not recognized any
parts on my 1951 M-38 that would seem to be "the same" part as found on a MB. Substitutions might be possible, but they are not "the same" part. If some are, I'd love for someone to correct me and point these out to me. Perhaps the T-90-A
transmission, which was common to the M-38 and the M-38A1? Wheel brake cylinders and rear black out lights also common for the M-38/M-38A1 also? But my recall says there was little common to the MB/M-38, and little that would correctly substitute.
I've seen an M38A1 engine in a M-38, and while that's a substitution, I wouldn't call it a correct substitution (requires a hood scoop to be place on the M-38 hood--oh, the shame!)........
