PLEASE!!! Don't get us back into the GP (Jeep) discussion again - that
one ran it's course a few weeks ago and surely the "Willy's" or "Willis"
thing has too. Some people are entirely too ANAL. Give it up and get
back to brakes on the M-35 or rough-running Mutts.
Arthur, Oh Arthur - Where are you when we need you? Flame this one and
let's get down the road.

Incidentally, did anyone go to the GSA auction in Martinsville, IN
yesterday? I know there were couple of us there.

Report: 1953 M-37 - 12v conversion, not running but with possibilities
- body pretty straight w/minimum of rust, no tail gate, winch removed,
no canvas, had top bow and side frames, no troop seat or cargo cover
hardware, 4 extra used tires in bed, painted light blue with (GET THIS)
chrome headlight buckets, brackets, and guards, grille, and rear
fenders. Went to Jackson, MI for $1400.

Another 1953 M-37 - still in OD w/ stars, 24 volt, generator in bed, no
top or top bow, no troop seat or cargo cover hardware, not running,
rusty body, Had a nice tailgate w/pioneer rack.
Went for $1000.

JUNK M-38A1 with the engine, transmission and front fender lying in the
bed went for $750.

Two M-52, more or less complete tractors went for $4500 and $4600 -
neither running.

M35A2 w/transmision lying on the ground in front of it brought $525 -
body was decent and it may have been a bargain for a better mechanic
than me.

Sleeper of the sale was an M-54A1 (1958 Diamond T) repowered by an 8.3
liter Cummins turbo w/35 hours on the hour meter. Body and tires good,
all the lights and parts intact, and it supposedly had been running 30
days ago, when brought in for the sale. It brought $4900.

M-103 generator trailer w/2 non-running 10kw generators brought $750.

Many M-880,882,886, etc. Dodges brought from $25 for a wreck to $1,000
for a couple of the best ones. None running and even the best ones were
pretty rough - the same guy bought most of these and I suppose he could
make 3 or 4 decent hunting or work trucks out of 8 or 10 junkers.

I would have liked to meet any fellow listers there. Maybe we need to
get caps or badges to ID ourselves at various events.

Steve
