Last time I saw Goer's on active duty was in the late 70's.
They suffered from a lot of the same problems as the Gamma Goat...... insofar
as they were training intensive. Took a lot to teach someone to operate them
and stay proficient. Killed those who weren't well trained.
As I recall from my motor pool days, they weren't easy to keep operational
either. Too much hydraulics.
Short term replacement was the 5 ton cargo trucks, and eventually, the HEMMT.
