Having seen both sides of the situation I'd be inclined to blast and prime
your original tub, and pay someone to fit the new panels if needed.

I imagine that all the grot in your tub is located in the same area,
namely the front floor, fuel tank well, and the bottom edges of the side
panels. If this is the case just bin that bit and replace the panels, but
do remember to build the shell and attach the new panels ON THE CHASSIS,
as the fit of the tank well is particularly critical.

I've seen someone spend a lot of money on replacing virtually every panel
of an original shell when they should have gone for a unit replacement,
but if it's the front floor and tank well replacement is straightforward.
