1980 sounds about right for the Hotchkiss tubs being available. My dad bought
one during the Sarafan open house. We drove home with the crated tub kit in a
rental trailer. The whole tub kit was $1000. It took him 10 years to find the
time to put it all together. He used only the tub, as he wanted to re-use the
original windscreen grille and fenders.

I am visiting my mothers for the holidays, and the Jeep is here if there are
any specific questions related to the Hotchkiss tub that I can check while
I'm here.

As far as GenMarc went, I visited their main facility in Red River Texas
shortly after they opened. As you said, the quality got better toward the end
of production. As I recall, it was after the Portland MVPA convention that
they got religion. I was disappointed when they went out of business. I was
actually looking for a CJ3B tub at the time, but they never got around to
making them.

Happy holidays form Connecticut.

Keith
