I got a chance to clean off some of the dirt and grease this evening. I found a couple more data
plates. It is a 120 volt, 60 Hz, 2 phase model with a 5 kW output rating. The engine is a military
standard model with something like 52 CI's with I think a 2.5 inch bore and 3 inch stroke. The
engine is water cooled by a condenser type set-up. There is no water pump. The distributor is a
magneto type that doesn't need an external power source to provide spark and is made by Fairbanks
Morse. The starter is an Autolite unit. There is a small box mounted next to were the battery goes
that had several small parts in it. One item I found in it was a 4 inch cable with battery clamps on
both ends so it looks like the generator is made to use two small batteries side by side. Possibly
12 volt M38A1 batteries. The generator unit is longer then it is round. There is one box with two
regular 120 volt outlets and one large round connector with two sockets, one red and the other
white, that reminds me of a two pin 28 volt slave cable connector on M series vehicles but larger.

Thanks,
Bryan R.
