Jack,
I just replaced a leaking freeze plug on a CUCV 6.2 diesel. It
had a hole about 3/16" in it and I couldn't figure out why. There
are several deeply pitted areas on the plug that resemble
countersinks. No rust or evidence of corrosion, so I'm now
thinking it was caused by cavitation. Out with the perm in it
and in with a diesel rated coolant.
Thanks ever so much fo the tech info.
