M-37 unit marking

I recently sold a friend an M-37 that had been painted fire dep't red and
when he removed the red paint using oven cleaner and pressure washer, he
discovered the original US Army numbers, stars and also in the lower left
corner of the driver's door there is a yellow horse about 6 to 8 inches
tall, rearing on it's hind legs. There are no other discernable unit
numbers on bumperettes and the front bumper had been replaced when the
original winch was removed some time ago.
We just wondered if someone recognized the rearing yellow horse and could
identify the unit it might have been associated with.
We appreciate any info.
Thanks,

Steve Shaw
