Hi Chuck,

I test drove one of those a few years back, leather interior and wood dash,
100K price tag. Now there is something you will off road :) Anyway, I
never drove a diesel hummer, so I don't know the difference, but the 5.7
seemed to be low on the power department, decelerating up a modest grade
somewhat alarmingly. My opinion, it seems like the humvee is a bit too much
truck for a gas motor to push around with good longevity, but this opinion
is based on very limited experience with the humvee. I say go with the 6.2,
much simpler system than a gas motor, and I have yet to have any of the
problems that these are supposed to have over the course of owning 2 cucv's,
(except for the junk bendix drives on the starters and cheapo flywheels
:) ).

Andy
