I believe Ford made B-24s at Willow Run not B-17s. It was a government owned
plant and Ford did not want it after the war, Kaiser bought it on the surplus
market and started their automobile plant in the old bomber plant.

My uncle had a 1940 Diamond T truck and they were truckers as long as I can
remember.
