I can't speak from experience here, but one of the old timers I grew up
around repaired gas tanks in his back yard. His solution to the explosion
idea was to run a hose from his exhaust pipe on his truck into the gas tank
displacing anyflamable gas. My opinion is gas tank repairs, I'll take to
the pros. As far as the old timer, he survived to be an "old timer"
