Then, loosen the driver's side corner of the soft top. Reach in under the soft top and shut the door and lock it. Then, fasten the top back down. This will keep most curious people out. However, if someone wants in, you are in for damage in addition to whatever they would have done anyway.

List,
Bruce's method is what I use on the soft top trucks and it indeed keeps out 95 % or more of the people.

Here is a method for hard cab trucks (probably won't work on shop vans): Lock the driver's door and exit though the passenger door. Climb up into the bed of the truck and open the sliding rear window. Reach in the cab with a "tool" and press down on the passenger door handle, locking the cab. Close the sliding rear window. Stash the "tool" in a safe place, like the trunk of your passenger car.

I found that the perfect "tool" is one of the rods for a soft top with a short section of fuel line slipped over the straight "rear" end (the part that is inserted into the bow, not the windshield). If you make the hose about 1/4 inch longer than this straight rod section, it will not scratch up the paint on your passenger door.

For even more security, install a key starter switch or use a battery disconnect and lock the battery box.

Happy green trucking!
