The information you got was correct - well at least I have heard same thing
and talked to local military truck dealer who says the same for he sells
lots of long side axles for M37 = You did not say but I will wager was long
side. I do not know of any thing that will substitute - do hope you were
able to get both pieces out of housing.
Memphis Equipment == and others can supply new one.
