      I don't want to ruin a possible sale but....These wrenches, while Ford, are not for the GPW. Most likely they are pre-war civilian ones.

    The GP and GPW's did not use Ford marked wrenches (open end type). The wrenches were supplied by an outside contractor (Williams for the GP and most, if not all, of the GPW's) and put into the tool kits. These wrenches were made to Government specifications ( ES-423, Drawing # 585) and were part of the tool kit required under the contract to be supplied with each vehicle.

     Wrenches at that time had a "Trade number" stamped on them, usually on the flat face of the ends. This Trade number was the same for most manufacturers. A 3/8 x 7/16 open end combination wrench of a set size would be marked "723" no matter who made it.

Below are the Ford part numbers and sizes for the GPW wrenches.

    Note: In the Ford numbering system, the prefix for a part number would be from the first vehicle that used it. GPW tools which have a GP prefix are the same as the ones used in the GP tool kits.

  The Williams Trade numbers for the GPW are listed in ( ).

   The correct wrenches are;

GP-17043 size 3/8 x 7/16 (# 723)
GP-17044 size 1/2 x 19/32 (# 25)
GP-17045 size 9/16 x 11/16 (# 27C)
GP-17046 size 5/8 x 25/32 (# 28D ) (28-S for the 2GA)
GP-17047 size 3/4 x 7/8 (# 731-A)

   These wrenches were included in the tool kits of the following Ford military vehicles;

GP, GPW, GPA, 11AS and 2GAS (1941/42 Staff cars), G8T series, G218 and GTB.
