A report from a German fighter-bomber squadron seems to bear this out:
"....arrived over objective, to find factories and wharves gone. Large faces of Goofy, Pluto, Micky Mouse, and Snow White covered the former target area. The Fantasia Theme emanated from an unknown source at highly amplified levels, totally disrupting navigation instruments. Radio reported that the entire sight had a "G" rating. Lead aircraft attempted to release bombs, only to have them all turn into large yellow dancing elves. Instead of the expected strafing by hordes of fighters, we experienced the most bizarre escort by a wing of flying aerobatic pink elephants.(Really! Ask the bombadier! He saw them too!) Mission aborted, and all aircraft returned to base."
