Looking at Figure 114 of TM 9-8601, Power Brake Equipment (Midland Steel
Products), the photo clearly shows that the air cylinder piston push rod seal
has a LARGER inside diameter than the slave cylinder piston cup.
By the way G-742 trucks have the Midland Air-hydraulic cylinder, whereas
G-744 and G-749 have Air-Paks. Air-Pak is a Bendix trade name for their
air-hyrdraulic cylinder, thus the Reo's really didn't have Air-Paks.
For future reference the TM for Bendix BK systems is TM 9-8651 which covers
the Air-Pak as well as various vacuum booster systems.
