Randy and listers:
And don't forget that the M35 engine will readily start
BACKWARDS! That's right. Backwards. The timing is such on the 4 stroke engine that it starts as easily backwards as it does in standard rotation. So, if you park on a hill, front facing uphill, or even on the level, in any forward gear, and someone bumps you in front, your truck will promptly start its engine backwards, taking air in through the exhaust system and exhausting out the air cleaner. This has two immediate effects. It sets the air cleaner element on fire, and it really pisses off anyone who gets in the way of those eight big 20 inch tires. BTW, your truck has been designed NOT to stall under load. It will eagerly climb over almost any obstacle placed in its path. It will do this at an idle. Remember that big fat gear in the transfer case, and those big 6.72 axles?
(Ah, roger, HQ 12, you are clear for takeoff on
runway 2 backwards.)
Chocks anyone?
Jack
