For info, my comvan set up was
redesignated as "Automobile", and
All I did was state that the S144
shelter was "permanently attached"
and that a camp stove and two
ammo boxes of canned food was inside:

This "housecar" exclusion was lobbied for supposedly by General Motors' GMC division when they were marketing that 3-axle motorhome they made in the 70s...the vehicles were over 9,000 lbs and were not selling in CA (and a few other states) because a Class B was required, so they pushed hard for this exclusion with the CA legislators of the day and got it put into law.
