1/2 inch "armaflex" ( black closed cell foam) used in the HVAC industry
works great as a insulator and it also deadens the sound. It is also
waterproof and heat resistant. It can be adheared to the bottom of the
cab, firewall or where ever with 3m spray contact adhesive. It also
works great glued to the underside of the hood to dampen engine noise.
Available at WW Grainger or HVAC shops fo about $12 a 3 X 4 sheet.
