I just looked through a decent book I have on the North African campaign.
 There was one picture of something that looked to be a WC12 used by
American forces in December 1942 (advancing on Tunisia). And I don't see
any reason to doubt that they were there since that was the time period
they were used in. It was almost certainly in OD as well.
