I've unbolted the vent cap. After taking it inside and cleaningthe threads off, i blew into it, and it didn't seem to take much to blow through, but there was a point at first where it semed stuck.
It's soaking in some detergent, and I'm about to go and get it out, and hose it with water, then solvent, then wd-40. I guess I'll put it back on and see.

I noticed that on this one, the cap is not 'up' as much as the others. it does not seem to have a spring. I would think it would therefore be easier to open under pressure, but what do I know. The cap
does move up and down.

After getting the truck home the first time, from VA, I eentually got around to checking the fluids. That axle which is now leaking actually had a vacuum in it! As I removed the large fill plug, air
was sucked in. This shows it was working and at least had some kind of seal before.
