Yep, rode right down through New York City once in an old Mack and watched the driver
working both gear shifts like this....never missing a gear and smooth as silk. Some of
the fellows that drove trucks years ago never used the clutch after they got it
rolling. I think that we're talking about highway driving though.Does anyone use the
clutch-less method on their mil-veh's today? I think that some of the guys are
intimidated by their vehicles....if they had to drive one clear across the "colonies"
of today....with a load on it....they'd learn to be a truck driver and learn to "cut
corners"....so to speak. Not knocking....just commenting. Fred
