went and looked at mine -- I have a copper post at back. I put one clamp on
it and touched other to mounting ears - spun over just fine -

Concerning your "eons" some 50 years ago my father had 6 volt battery
charger that he had made= two wheels on a 12x12 frame - 1 hp motor on
frame, legs up about 18 inches to a little platform - and 6 volt generator
on it, had same pulley on each. handle to move it with and cord to plug
wall - wire and clamps to hook to battery -- took a while but would charge
battery fine. My father had made it to charge battery on 1938 Ford car, you
could not buy a battery for a car that he drove to work when was working on
crew that built WWII - B17 training base in about 1943 - he was still
driving car in 1956 -

By the way this car had a gasoline burning heater, mounted on firewall under
dash. line went to a spacer between carb. and manifold, had sparkplug in
it - I never paid any attention to how it got fuel or what happened to
exhaust - do remember that it worked much better than kerosene lantern he
had in shop van.

Not always correct; but never in doubt

Subject: [MV] 6V generator run as motor for testing

Eons ago I used to test a 6V generator by running it as a motor briefly.
Does anyone remember where to place the battery leads to do this? Dick
