Devillbiss Spray gun and painting help

I am getting ready to paint the rear axle on my M37, I am going to use a
spray gun for the first time. I need some help. I have a Devillbiss MBD
siphon gun with a #30 tip. Is this ok for spraying Gillespie paint?
According to Cable Garbees site I should be using a 4:1 ratio for thinning
the paint

Any other suggestions?
