Run it on a really dark night, or in a darkened garage
with the hood up so you can see if there are any High
Voltage sparks anywhere.

Check the plugs for carbon tracking, same withthe
distributer cap and rotor.

Check for cracked insulators on the plugs, are the
plugs clean? Do they have carbon on them anywhere?

Oil won't conduct electricity but it will hold carbon
which will.

Check the connectors on the wires. Don't know how to
check the conductor inside the wire though, maybe
change out yours with KNOWN good ones.
