Welcome to the List and the Hobby? (Obsession)

The 1C turbo can be heard in the jungle idling an average of three
klics away. It produces enough noise the Army requires you to wear noise
protection in/on your ears. The 1D was designed to reduce noise and does a
wonderful job doing exactly that without a muffler.

Make sure you are using the proper weight motor oil, they were
designed to use straight 30 Weight non-detergent motor oil but the Army
changed over to a good Multi-grade motor oil 15-40 is the most common
weight now used.

The build date of 89 is when the Army ran the truck thru a shop
MWO program essentially rebuilding them. What do you have for Manuals for
your truck. I would recommend buying one on a CD, it's real easy to look at
in the house without hassle from the Wife and you can print out what your
working on and not worry about getting grease or oil or something else on
it as your generally going to throw it out anyways.
