I use AOL 8.0 and had problems posting to the List. Upon contacting AOL, I was advised to go to AOL MAIL:

http://my.screenname.aol.com/_cqr/login/login.psp?siteId=atlasaol&authLev=2&mcState=initialized&triedAimAuth=y

Type in password and when mail comes up, click on SEND MAIL.
Not very reliable as I get some bounces.
