I have a friend that is in the truck rebuilding business, he has a couple of
fuel cans (5 gal GI) and he has soldered/welded/bronzed a fitting in side of
can close to the bottom. One can for gasoline one for diesel. He will sit
whichever of these cans he needs on radiator shroud and secure them, run
line to carb. or to injector pump, open petcock he installed in dischage
from can. Unplug electrical connection to truck tank or unhook line from
fuel pump. Crank truck and move it on yard or into shop for repairs running
off fuel in can. Then he can drop fuel tanks or whatever needs to be done,
and has not pumped a load of crap from tank in truck.
