If the trailer, or some other trailer that was needed for some reason,
has electric brakes and/or an antilock brake system (ABS), it will burn
them out, since they are 12 v systems. Might take some more planning. I
too, have considered this. I ended up making a really nice set of tow
lights out of surplus M35 taillights. Now, I just clamp them onto
whatever trailer I'm using and plug the long cord into my M54A2. Works
great.
