Hello Plaz,

Yes there will be a MV show this year but it will not be at Churchville. It
is being moved just off of I-95 S. B. lane to the Cal Ripkin stadium. The
dates are here somewhere on this list, I believe but I do not have them
close by.

Another idea which you may want to check with the MVA on involves the use of
standard cable ties, the nylon thingies for holding wires in place. This is
what I use on my duece. The Maryland law says that the registration plates
have to be permanently attachted but does not really specify how this is to
be done. Cable ties are permanent and easily removed for shows then
replaced. I stopped at a weigh scale on I-95 in Cecil County and was called
to the impound lot. I figured that I was in trouble. No, the inspector
just wanted to look at and talk about the truck. He looked it over pretty
well, including the way that the plates were attached and never said a word
about the plates.

Cable ties can be bought in many different colors including green and tan
which kind of blends in to whatever color scheme you are using on your
M1008, they can be trimmed and located so that only a small part of the tie
is showing and all you need is a pair of wire cutters, a knife or as was
previously mentioned a Leatherman tool.

Now, you do have to keep an eye on the things as the plates themselves can
cut through the ties but it has only happened to my duece once on the front
and twice on the back plates. Since I apply two ties through each mounting
hole of the plates this is not a problem. I just replace the bad ones when
I stop and find a bad one. And, I have driven my truck over 5,000 miles
since Memorial Day 2003 when I bought it.

I have a tag light for the night use of the truck which I intend to attach
with a magnet or other temporary means that will just plug in somewhere but
haven't got around to doing that yet.

Good luck, Bill K.
