Siping of NDT tires and CTIS question

This has come up in the past, but without a satisfactory answer;
Has anyone had experience with siped NDT tires (tires with fine slits cut
into them)? There is a tire shop in Mt Airy, NC (Brady's tire service) that
used to sipe tires, but doesn't any longer.

It didn't cost much, about $20.00/tire and it is supposed to improve
traction on wet pavement.

I spotted a deuce a couple of years ago at Memphis Equipment (PA) with siped
tires, so the army must have experimented with it.

I'm also curious about the time it takes to deflate and reinflate tires with
the CTIS system.

Any knowledgeable comments would be appreciated.

Bjorn
