Which brings to mind all MV owners (except Mule owners), and especially
those of you who are in colder climates, should follow this SIMPLE
procedure
before going for a ride in your MV.

Approach vehicle and slap the hood with a good solid whack.
walk around to the rear wheel wells and slap the fenders.
Honk horn, count to 10 and then start your engine.

Cats sleep on engines and on top of tires. Not only is this curtesy to
the kitty,
but it saves a lot of clean up. And possibly avoids a row with the misses.
