Thanks for all the input guys. For those of you not familiar with what I'm
dealing with, it has a mechanical pump on the side of the motor (which, as I
said, I have replaced) and this is the late Mutt w/ emission controls with lots
of extra vent lines and such. I've been through a few carbs on this jeep and
right now it's running better than it ever has. I see no signs of excess fuel
getting past the carb accept, like all Mutts, the vacuum powered accelerator
pump gives it a squirt when the engine is turned off and vacuum goes away. Since
all Mutts are like this I'm assuming this is not the culprit. I'm going to
disconect as much of the emission stuff as possible, change the oil and see what
happens. I'll report back.
