Hi

Are we talking Zecon here from GA? I tried to buy on from them and they
would not do it unless I showed a Customs Export Lic first. I must have
come along after you. You are lucky. I wish I had got one of theirs
and done the same as you, which is what I wanted. Anyway I will bet a
coke that the one on Ebay came out of Barstow CA. There were some sold
out there with the export restrictions for liability too, and this guy
just didn't get a good title on it from CA. It would have been a lot
better than phonying it up as a 1961 but hey he is going to dump it on
Ebay for sure and he'll be happy.

Later
Glenn

The ones sold a year or so ago by a company in Augusta, Ga came with
Form 97s with no restrictions. The bill of sale from the .gov to United
Defense had no restrictions placed on it, I can show a copy of this.
The only bill of sale that shows a restriction is the one from the
company in Augusta. I believe they did this to cover any liability
issues that might come about due to any accidents. I purchased one of
these jeeps for my military museum and had no trouble getting a title
for it with the Form 97. This jeep more than likely might have a good
title if he was smart enough to get the form 97 when he purchased it.

Hope this helps,
Jason
