CUCV glow plugs

Hello all!

CUCV owners might find this interesting.
Has anyone ever come across a bad box of AC-13G plugs???

Changed one out last fall and replaced it with a new AC-13G, one from a box
of 8.
This past winter, noticed that it had gone bad and would require an
extractor to remove.
Left it till now. The other 7 were fine, combination of Delco and Wellmans.

Removed and replaced it and 6 others from what was left from this pack.
I was left with one cylinder that had an older AC-13, from a different batch.

Checked current draw and voltage of each plug, all normal.
Cycled the glow plug system, all normal, engine started, ran it for 2-3
minutes.

Checked the plug current draw and found all but the one old AC-13 plug
had gone open. 4 plugs came out easily with my extractor, 3 simply
unscrewed without
any extra help, and the one from an old batch, it still checked good, came
out fine.

Only thing different between the old batch and these new ones is the
insulator color.
Old ones were yellow; the new ones, white/light grey but this probably
doesn't mean much these days.

As I said, initially each plug had the proper voltage ( +14) and drew from
7.5 to 9 amps each.
Glow plug cycle duration is and continues to be normal.

Gonna see if there might have been a recall on these.

Thanks again everyone!
