[MV] Movement to ban private ownership of MVs gains momentum

I agree with the previous post.

A big concern of the auto industry (who hold considerable influence with
the military) is product liability. Every product surplussed by the
government makes the manufacturer nervous. Like the Humvees that are now
being crushed because the manufacturer does not want them on the road.

Every time there is a story with negative implications (and remember that
the news industry's purpose to sell advertising, NOT correctly report the
news and report in any detail) it bodes very bad for us collectors. Public
Relations is very, very important. If ONE idiot does something stupid, it
takes years for the repercussions to fade away. Its like one "Aw Shit"
wipps out all your Atta-boys". Look at the M-60 that was stolen, how long
ago was that and yet it is still talked about, becoming an urban legend.

So lets work together to keep the idiots from ruining OD collecting for the
rest of us. If you know of someone that is doing something stupid than try
to educate them on the right way or what ever?
