Okay when I get on here you know its to come to the truth and to make sure all you understand what is going on out here.  I just saw something on the "pentagon channel" that got my chain pulled.

Some Specialist was talking about (and I did not hear his original gripe) how he has to "go to the dump to get armor".  Just what exactly is he talking about?  No he is not going to the local landfill like the reporters were asking this General now.  Hell the General doesnt get down that low anymore to talk to the Specialists ranks.  Come on!!!  The E-3 is talking about how he goes to the lot where the blown up vehicles are stored and he picks off the pieces that are still good, and puts them on his vehicle.

Next question was about armor.  "how much is enough".  What kind of question is that???  How much money would you like?  Thats more like it............Gee, Until no one gets hurt is ENOUGH armor, right?  Well how much can a Hummer take?  Not the extra 4,000 pounds and still have some get up and go.  Like we have been talking here.

How many vehicles do we have with X armor on them?  Well the ones that dont have it, are ones that we havent fitted it with yet.  So those of you who want it on now..........GET OFF YOU BUTTS AND COME OVER HERE AND HELP OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If you got all the answers get into politics, figure out the bigger picture and we will see how your "plan" makes it to realization.  More like circular file...........thats the trash can for those of you who dont know.

Oh by the way, yes your all right, the Hummer was never intended to be armored!  It was a troop/cargo carrier.  Things intended to defeat explosions are called armor from the factory.  Like Armored Cars, Tanks, and Armored Personel Carriers.  Get the picture now?

Stop being an armchair quarterback!  Okay my rant is almost over!

Just how long is an "involuntary extention" ?????  Anyone?????

And extention can be 1 day to 6 months.  So what, he was extended 3 days is that it?????  Or has be been extended 18 months past his rotation date???  Anyone care to take a wild guess on this one????  Do you really believe that someone would be extended 18 months Past his/her rotation and not have gotten some benefit out of it.  You didnt hear them chattering away about the friggin bonus they got out of it though did you?  $30,000 tax free????  Anyone wanna make a bet on this?  Doubt it.

Oh the Volunteer force...........What, he got "caught" and had to do some time in a combat zone and not just get some free money to go to college.  Instead of  1weekend a month.  I do think that the enlistment is void if there is any lying going on.  Was he forced to sign the contract?  NO!  Was he forced to go into the Service?  NO!!  So who is the crybaby now?

Stop Loss is unfortunate.  But it keeps all of us safe.  Even those of you who Bash the President.  Dont like whats going on????  Get your butts out here and relieve me!  WE have flights leaving everyday.  Dont like the service you say, .......Good, get out of the country I defend.

Rumsfeld stated that it was a matter of production and logistics holding things up, not money or desire. I'm sure his answers made everybody there feel all warm and fuzzy. There was another tough question I heard, something like "I'm going on my 3rd involuntary extension of service, when can I go home?" and implying that we no longer have an all volunteer armed forces. He dodged this question rather poorly by simply restating what the Stop Loss order is and that he feels it is unfortunate that it is needed. Since this was the man that overruled the Army's troop projections prior to getting into this war, and also the man that said all our troops would be out by this past summer, I felt he had a moral responsibility to answer this soldier's question straight on instead of dodging it like a cowardly politician. Not his choice surprised me.
