Ryan,
I use a "farm co-op" tire shop for my duece. Some tire shops and even a
few big truck shops won't touch them. Some have tried to tell me the
wheels are illegal--NOT -- but, they are obsolete design. And most
younger guys don't know how to safely mount and dismount the tires and
rings. "My farm shop" does them every day. $30.00 ( new tube and flap and
remove nails, etc. ) if I bring it to them. $75.00 for road service.
They always replace the tube and flap with a new one, either case. Even
with the proper tools, I can't fix 'em for that when you figure my time
and labor.
Last spring I needed to do a brake job on the M35A2 and couldn't break
the lugs loose. After a full day friday trying I called the shop. They
came out, broke the lugs loose with a 1in impact, then just snugged them
down for me. Cost? 30.00! Time involved? 1 1/2 hr from call to finished.
Should have called fri. morning and saved an entire day!!!!
