Make sure the hidden shut off valve under the fuel
tank is on and fuel is flowing.

Next. Use the finger pump on the primary fuel pump..
if so equipped, most pumps have this feature. This
primary or uptake pump is on the block opposite side
of the motor from the injector pump.

Make sure you can pump fuel from the primary uptake
pump to the fuel filter.

If you don't get any fuel or can't feel it loading
fuel, turn engine over to engage cam lobe to the pump
arm and try again. Then if it's pumping fuel, start
the air bleeding proceedure over like this....

When you drain the fuel filter a lot of air gets in
the system. With that in mind open the air vent on
top of the filter holder, if so equipped.

Crank until fuel is coming up through the #1 air bleed
valve on filter.

Then proceed to the injector pump. Open the air bleed
#2 valve, usuall this one is about 3/4ths of the way
up on the pump. Crank over till you get fuel.

Next, at the injectors, loosen all three inject lines
at the injectors, but do not remove the line, just let
them be loose, ok? Safety reasons..

Now crank until each injector line is starting to seep
fuel...seeping means air is still coming up...so keep
doing this cranking, but never more than 10 seconds at
a time.

Make sure your starter isn't getting too hot with all
that cranking!

When seeping turns to a better flow where fuel is
streaming 1/2 wide pattern down the side of the block,
you probably got enough air out to start it, but not
necessarily and you may have to do this next...

Take a 2 sec. shot of ether into the airfilter. With
your throttle at 30-40%, immediately crank it
over...it may just rumble a couple of times trying to
start, this is normal.

Try a quick shot of ether once more...not too much,
ok?

Open the throttle up a tad more if it doesn't kick
off.

You might have to repeat this 4-5 times but unless
your injector pump is dead it will start. If it was
running 5 years ago, it probably still has a good
pump, just an air problem.

I've never harmed a diesel engine in 30 years with
ether, but just don't get crazy with it. A quick shot
is enough to get something going, too much and you
could potentially harm your engine, ok?

Good luck!
