I'd say all that is unreasonable.

FORCCOM allowed re-enactors and vehicles onto the Ft Gillem post with live weapons and blanks, didn't search us to any great degree ("open the truck, that's cool stuff, thanks!"). They paid for us to show up and were quite happy to have us on the base. They were hospitable and didn't give us any grief.

Sounds like the guy running this airshow doesn't have a rapport with the post commander and the post commander has a stick up his backside. I'd go somewhere else. Word a nice polite letter explaining that if they're going to require you to go through that many hoops when you were asked to attend as a favor, then you're going to go somewhere else.
