Well fellas ,
I`ve read with great interest ALL the posts on this
matter but been a little afraid to try it .
With the bank account well drained due to Christmas and the need to travel ,
as the saying goes " needs must when the Devil drives " !
NO science or theory has been used just dead reckoning ! About 700 miles
have been covered mostly in zero or close temperatures , and starting from
cold has been NO problem ! The fuel filter is NOT new it was on the vehicle
when I got it !
Right , DO NOT over fill the pans ,pour oil in carefully , watching for
water Etc and heat the oil to about 240*F to boil out any moisture . BE
VERY CAREFUL NOT TO BOIL OVER , if there is water present !
allow to cool to about 160*F and filter through a fine nylon filter ( panty
hose would serve if in two layers ).
Put 4.5 pints of gas and 9 pints of kerosene in a 5 gallon drum and fill
with the warm filtered oil , put cap on and shake well ! VOILA !
This mixture was used in a Ford 1.8 diesel . A slight loss of power was
noticed , due to the use of light fractions with a lower calorific value
than diesel , but it got over the problems of starting from cold and filter
clogging due to high viscosity .
In warmer climes the amount of gas and kerosene could be reduced !

SO FAR , SO GOOD Noel
