I'm not sure about surplus units, but we use one on
our steam driven generator. It's called an Alpha
Laval seperator. It's a centrifuge with a series of
cones in the center. The speed is set to spin the oil
just fast enough to spin the water over the lip of the
cones.

Does a great job of separating water, but blocks up
fast with debris if you don't filter the oil first.
We use a 5 micron filter ahead of it.
